I’m so elated, Sewinlove Workshops scored its first media feature by a Chinese travel magazine, <<Explorer>> Feb 2014 issue! Woohoo!
It was a lovely feature by the editor, Mingxin, highlighting my love for lace and literature and how these influences show up in my crocheted lace jewellery line, and a spotlight on my foundational amigurumi class making Rain+Cloud: Best Friends in fair and fair weather (Join the next class here!)!
Many thanks to the generous BFF Zakka Store SuperGals who offered me up for the interview. Apart from its own merits as a true-to-spirit zakka store in the heart of Singapore’s cultural Katong district, BFF Zakka Store has been a well-loved meeting place for crafts-seekers, hosting craft workshops such as mine (crochet and related yarn crafts), and others including beading, stamp carving and flower arrangement. They certainly offer a unique shopping and lifestyle experience in the cosy and comfortable setting of their homely store, and Sewinlove is proud to be the first craft-instructor amongst the line-up to be featured.
And boy did I have fun at that workshop with my ever-supportive students where we chatted and laughed so much! Thanks Mingxin, for helping me look even better in print than in person and capturing my thoughts so well even though my rudimentary Chinese has failed me in expression, and especially to the gals who joined my classes and have since become my friends, thanks for journeying with Sewinlove Workshops! I shall continue my task of spreading hookiejoy and yarnlove!
